The Snapshot Summary Report displays information about the number, size, and location of snapshots in your virtualized infrastructure. Snapshots are supported only for vCenter VMs.
Use this report to find:
- Old snapshots that are no longer needed or useful.
- Large snapshots that are consuming excessive space.
- Large numbers of snapshots for individual VMs.
- Who created a snapshot.
The size of a snapshot is reported if it was created on vCenter versions 4 or higher. If snapshots were created in vCenter 2.5, the size for those snapshots is reported as "unknown". In addition, if the vCenter 2.5 snapshots are grouped together by datastore in the report, they are displayed under the heading "Value Not Set".
