Manage SaaS connectors

Learn how to manage your SaaS connectors in SAM settings.

Connectors can be added, edited, disabled, enabled, and deleted. Connections can be tested, data aggregations run, and scheduling of data aggregations enabled. Data collected by a connector can be deleted while keeping the connector and its settings for future aggregations.

View connectors

You can view your connectors to see their last aggregation, aggregation schedule, and status. For column descriptions, see SaaS connectors - Reference.

  1. On the SAM settings menu, under Data collection, select SaaS connectors.

  2. On the SaaS connectors page, select the name of a connector to view it.

Add connectors

You can add multiple connectors for the same vendor and product if you, for example, want to use different settings. If you add more than one connector with the same settings, it will create data duplicates due to duplicated data imports.

To add connectors, you first have to prepare the necessary credentials for the connector in the respective vendor portal. To prepare connector credentials, follow the product-specific procedure.

  1. On the SAM settings menu, select SaaS connectors.

  2. On the SaaS connectors page, select Add connector.

  3. Select Vendor and Product.

  4. Select Next.

  5. Under General, enter a Name for the connector.

The name is used to identify the connector in lists and reports, and it must be unique.

  6. Under Settings, enter the credentials for the connector.

To prepare connector credentials, follow the product-specific procedure.

  7. Optional: Schedule data aggregations.

The default is Disabled, which requires manual aggregations. To schedule data aggregations:

    1. In the Schedule section, select Enabled.

    2. In Repeat period, select one of the following intervals for aggregations:

      • Hourly, and select the Time to start the aggregation.

      • Daily, and select the Hourly interval to start the aggregation.

  8. To add the connector and test the connection, select Finish.

The connector is now being added to the system.

    • If the connector is successfully added, it changes status to Active and the connection is tested.

    • If the connector fails to be added, it changes status to Failed.

To try again to add the connector, select the connector, and then select Retry.
