Introduction

The Snow Integration Connector for HP Universal Discovery (UD) is used to aggregate third-party inventory data to Snow License Manager.

The HP UD connector reads data from files that are saved to a specific folder. The HP UD scan files (.xsf) are opened and converted to a standard Snow Inventory file that can be integrated with the Snow Inventory database.

Prerequisites

The HP UD has an output folder for the inventory data, and this folder usually resides within the UD application server itself. By default, the folder is named Processed. The folder contains files (.xsf) that are around 700-900 KB in size. These are the individual inventory files for each host that is scanned by HP UD.

For the Snow Integration Manager to process these inventory files, you need to share the Processed folder and then use this share when configuring the HP UD connector.

Dependencies on other Snow products

The following Snow product versions are required for processing of inventory data collected by the integration connector for HP UD:

  • Snow Inventory Server 5 (or later)
