Export and convert your Self-Signed Certificate

  1. Export the certificate from IIS:

    1. Open the Service Certificates from IIS.

    2. Select the certificate and click Export.

    3. In the Export certificate dialog box, select a location for the exported certificate, create a password and then click OK.

      Note

      The password will be used later when converting the certificate for use with ServiceNow later.

  2. Convert the certificate from the format .PFX to .PEM.

    Note

    There are several tools online that can be used for the conversion. Search for example for "Convert PFX to PEM" to find a tool.

  3. Open the PEM file with a text editor.

  4. Copy the lines containing the certificate section.
