Oracle verified data view

Snow Software is a verified third-party tool vendor for Oracle Databases and Database options, meaning that Oracle accepts Oracle Database data collected by Snow License Manager as verified audit data.

To manage and download verified Oracle Database data, go to Enterprise > Oracle overview and select the Oracle verified data tab.

Note

The Oracle verified data tab is not available by default for all users. See Oracle verified data in Snow License Manager for more information on the Oracle verified data feature and how to enable it.

The Oracle verified data tab divides the servers of the estate into two tables:

  • Servers with completed verified data - Oracle verified data can be prepared and downloaded for the servers listed in this table.

Servers lacking information about Assigned database license, Metric, and/or Environment are included in the list, but the missing information must be added before verified data for those servers can be included in the download. The information can be edited directly via the user interface.

  • Servers with incomplete verified data - Oracle verified data cannot be prepared and downloaded for the servers listed in this table because of critical missing data or errors, for example, missing Snow Inventory Oracle Scanner data, missing computer in the topology, validation errors, or parsing errors.

For each server in the table, the reasons for why the data is categorized as incomplete are listed, together with recommended actions for resolving the issues. If the issues are resolved, the server will be moved to the Servers with completed verified data table, and verified data for the server can be downloaded.

Prepare and download Oracle verified data

Note

If you want to include data for any of the servers in the Servers with incomplete verified data table in the download, you must first resolve the issues listed in the table.

  1. Go to the Servers with completed verified data view.

All servers for which Oracle verified data can be downloaded are listed in the table. If any servers in the table lack information on Assigned database license, Metric, or Environment, a warning message is displayed above the table. The missing data must be added before audit data can be downloaded for those servers, as described below:

    • To add missing data, select the checkboxes for one or more servers, select Actions > Edit data, and in the Editing database properties window, edit the data for Metric, Assigned database license, and/or Environment.

      Note

Edited Assigned database license and Metric values only affect the data in the Oracle verified data view and not the permanently stored data. Edited values can be reset by selecting Reset data. All edited values for all servers will be reset, whether they are selected or not.

Edited Environment values are permanently stored, meaning that other views in the user interface will display the same values. Edited values cannot be reset by selecting Reset data. To change edited environment values, use the Edit function.

  2. Select the checkboxes for the servers for which you want to extract and download Oracle verified data, and then select Prepare file.

The data for the selected servers are extracted. If many servers are selected, the process may take some time. When all data is extracted, the Download file button is enabled.

  3. Select Download file.

The Oracle verified data is downloaded as a ZIP file.
