Network Transport and Endpoint Security

For network transport and endpoint security, Snow License Manager relies on advanced capabilities of Microsoft Internet Information Server (MS IIS), which can be customized in accordance with security needs. We recommend using a Snow License Manager endpoint by use of the TLS protocol (https) with a valid certificate that is issued by a trusted or internal certificate authority (CA). IP restriction protection, removal of unwanted HTTP headers, error-page customization, and additional security hardening can be achieved via IIS functionality.

For example, IP protection can be used to prevent unauthorized access from sites or non-trusted networks. The UI of Snow License Manager can be configured to restrict access to a set of pre-defined IP addresses. Snow Software utilizes this technology to protect multi-tenant service provider environments.
