Software Asset Management

Software Asset Management, or SAM, is defined by ISO as “effective management, control, and protection of software assets within an organization”.

global SAM owner is an individual at a central organization wide level who is in charge of Software Asset Management. A local SAM owner is an individual in charge of SAM for a defined node or section of an organization. Local SAM owners are sub-ordinated to the global SAM owner.
