Configure the IBM PowerVM connector

The Snow Integration Connector for IBM PowerVM is configured within Snow Integration Manager (SIM). For more information, refer to Snow Integration Manager.

In Snow Integration Manager, add IBM PowerVM connector and configure the following settings:

  1. Enter a Site name for this collection of IBM PowerVM managed servers.

  2. Enter a Datacenter name for this collection of IBM PowerVM managed servers.

  3. Select the desired proxy server settings.

  4. The Save to HMC files to disk option is only for troubleshooting. It is recommended to leave this option disabled.

  5. To add one or more IBM PowerVM-managed servers to scan for inventory data, select Add.

    The PowerVM Server dialog box appears.

  6. Enter Name/Datacenter of the PowerVM-managed server.

  7. Enter the URL/IP address of the PowerVM Hardware Management Console (HMC) Rest API.

  8. In the Port field, type the required Port number. The default port number is 12443.

  9. In the User and Password fields, type credentials for a user account with access to the IBM HMC REST APIs.

  10. To verify the connection, select Test.

  11. Under Options, select the checkboxes to enable the desired behaviour.

  12. To save the settings and close the connection window, select OK. Select Cancel to discard any unsaved settings.

  13. To save the settings, select OK. Select Cancel to discard any unsaved settings.
