Add datacenter and cluster
On the Computers menu, click Datacenters and clusters.
The Datacenters and clusters view appears.
On the context menu, click Add datacenter/cluster.
The Datacenter and cluster detail view appears.
Enter information on the General, Hosts, and Extended coverage tabs according to the following sections, and then click Save.
General tab
Use the fields on the General tab to enter information on the datacenter/cluster:
Type a Name for the new datacenter/cluster.
Select Organization node that the datacenter/cluster belongs to from the list.
For datacenters controlled by a VMware vCenter Server, specify Controller to enable cross platform license downgrades for VMware vSphere/ESXi licenses:
To add a Controller:
Click the Select computer
icon.The Search for computer dialog appears.
Type a search criterion, and then click Search.
A list of computers that match the search criterion is displayed.
Select the computer, and then click OK.
To remove a Controller, click the Clear
icon.
Type a Description for the datacenter/cluster.
Servers tab
Use the Servers tab to add servers that will be included in the datacenter/cluster:
Click the Select a host
icon.The Search for computer dialog box appears.
Type a search criterion, and then click Search.
A list of servers that match the search criterion is displayed.
Select the server to be added from the list, and then click OK.
Click Add.
The selected server is added to the Server name list.
Extended coverage tab
Use the Extended coverage tab to specify for which datacenter/cluster the coverage should be extended to, for which application, and for what reason.
Click the Select datacenter
icon.The Search for datacenter dialog box appears.
Type a search criterion, and then click Search.
A list of datacenters that match the search criterion is displayed.
Select the datacenter to be added from the list.
Select an application from the Select application list.
Select a reason from the Select the reason for extending coverage list.
Click OK.
Click Add.
The selected datacenter is added to the list of datacenters with extended coverage.
