Custom compare value types

A custom compare value type is a customized metric intended for licenses where the pre-defined metrics in Snow License Manager are not applicable. Custom compare value types are used to solve complex situations when data needs to come from other sources than Snow Inventory agents. The custom compare value type is available for the metric Custom compare values for applications.

A custom field can be used as the basis for compliance calculations when using a custom compare value type as the metric. For more information, see Custom fields.

The Custom compare value types page shows a list of the added custom compare value types. The page has four columns: Name, Description, Use a custom field value for compliance, and A custom field value is used for compliance.

  • The checkboxes in the column Use a custom field value for compliance show if a custom field is used as the basis for compliance calculations for this custom compare value type. Note that you cannot select these checkboxes in the Custom compare value types page.

  • The checkboxes in the column A custom field value is used for compliance show if a custom compare value has been added as the metric for an application. Note that you cannot select these checkboxes in the Custom compare value types page.
