Manage import settings

  1. In the category menu, expand Configuration, and then click Import settings.

  2. Click the Settings tab.

  3. In the Organization section, do the following:

    1. Use the Organization separator text box to define the delimiter that indicates levels of the organization structure in the import source files.

      Example 83.

      Type “/” if the organization information is in the format: “ROOT/IT/Support”.



    2. Select the Use upper case for organization friendly name check box if capital letters should be used in the friendly name throughout the organization.

  4. In the Log: Created Organizations section, do the following

    1. To log information on created organizations during an import to a separate file, select the Enable check box.

    2. In the Path text box, click Browse.jpg and then browse for the folder where the log file(s) should be saved.

    3. Optionally, select the Include date stamp check box.

    4. In the Max File Size (MB) list, select maximum allowed size of the log file. Rows are appended to the log file until the specified maximum file size is reached, at which point the file is backed-up and a new log file is created.

    5. In the Backup Count list, select number of backup files to keep.

  5. Click Apply.

  1. In the category menu, expand Configuration, and then click Import settings.

  2. Click the Computer import tab.

  3. In the Obsolete Computers section, do the following:

    1. To limit the obsolete computer action to certain computers in the database, select the Restrict by configuration name check box.

    2. Type the configuration name(s) in the Allowed names text box.

  4. In the Log: Handled Obsolete Computers section, do the following:

    1. To log handling of obsolete computers to a separate file, select the Enable check box.

    2. In the Path text box, click Browse.jpg and then browse for the folder where the log file should be saved.

    3. Optionally, select the Include date stamp check box.

    4. In the Max File Size (MB) list, select maximum allowed size of the log file. Rows are appended to the log file until the specified maximum file size is reached, at which point the file is backed-up and a new log file is created.

    5. In the Backup Count list, select number of backup files to keep.

  5. Click Apply.
