Application manufacturers

On the Application manufacturers page in Snow Management and Configuration Center, you can see the manufacturers in your Snow License Manager database.

The ISO/IEC 19770-2 standard establishes specifications for tagging of software. Before ISO 19770-2 there was no standard for how software manufacturers should tag their software to facilitate identification of inventoried software. As a result, there are vast inconsistencies since the manufacturers might have tagged their software with slightly different manufacturer names. One example of this is Adobe products which can be tagged with manufacturer names such as Adobe, Adobe System, Adobe Systems, Adobe Inc., or Adobe Incorporated.

Because of these inconsistencies, all application manufacturer names must be specified in the Manufacturers list. Manufacturers of global applications identified by the Software Recognition Service are automatically added to the list, while manufacturers of local applications need to be manually added.
