Manage application bundles

An application bundle can either be created from scratch or by using existing applications as a basis.

Create new:

  1. In the category menu, expand Software recognition and then click Application bundles.

  2. Click New Bundle.

    The New Bundle dialog box appears.

Use existing applications as a basis:

  1. In the category menu, expand Software recognition, and then click Application bundles.

  2. Select application(s) from the Applications list.

  3. Click New Bundle From Selected.

    The New Bundle dialog box appears, and fields with common contents are automatically completed.

In the New Bundle dialog box:

  1. Type the required information on the General InfoSettingsApplication Types, and Part Number tabs. For more information, refer to the corresponding tabs in Create new application.

  2. Click OK to save the new bundle and close the New Bundle dialog box.

    The new bundle appears in the Bundles list.

The bundle should contain all applications and/or all application groups present in the program suite.

Assign application to bundle

  1. In the category menu, expand Software recognition, and then click Application bundles.

  2. Select the bundle in the Bundles list.

  3. Select application(s) in the Applications list.

  4. Click Assign, or drag the selected application(s) to the Applications in the selected bundle list.

Unassign application from bundle

  1. In the category menu, expand Software recognition, and then click Application groups.

  2. Select the bundle in the Bundles list.

  3. Select application(s) in the Applications in the selected application group list.

  4. Click Unassign, or drag the selected application(s) back to the Applications list.

  1. In the category menu, expand Software recognition, and then click Application bundles.

  2. Select the bundle in the Bundles list.

  3. Click Copy Bundle.

    The copy of the bundle is added to the Bundles list with the suffix “_COPY” added to the name.

  1. In the category menu, expand Software recognition, and then click Application bundles.

  2. Select the bundle in the Bundles list.

  3. Click Edit Bundle.

  4. Make the changes and click OK to save.

Select the application bundle to be overridden and in the same process, create the new bundle that will be used instead.

  1. In the category menu, expand Software recognition, and then click Application bundles.

  2. Select the bundle to be overridden in the Bundles list.

  3. Click Override Bundle, or right-click the bundle and then click Override.

    The Override Bundle dialog box appears.

  4. Type information for the new bundle on the General Info, Settings, Application Types, and Part Number tabs, for details see Create new application bundle.

  5. Click OK to save the new bundle and close the Override Bundle dialog box.

    The new bundle is added to the Bundles list and the overridden bundle is strikethrough.

  1. In the category menu, expand Software recognition, and then click Application bundles.

  2. Select the bundle in the Bundles list.

  3. Click Delete Bundle.

  4. Click OK to confirm the deletion.

    The bundle will be removed from the database and all associated software will be unassigned
