Manage application groups
An application group can either be created from scratch or by using existing applications as a basis.
Create new:
In the category menu, expand Software recognition, and then click Application groups.
Click New Group.
The New Application Group dialog box appears.
Use existing applications as a basis:
Select application(s) from the Applications list.
Click New Group From Selected.
The New Application Group dialog box appears, and fields with common contents are automatically completed
In the New Application Group dialog box:
Type the required information on the General Info, Settings, Application Types, and Part Number tabs. For more information, refer to the corresponding tabs in Create new application.
Click OK to save the new group and close the New Application Group dialog box.
The new group appears in the Application Groups list.
Applications can be added (assigned) to or removed (unassigned) from application groups.
Assign application to group
In the category menu, expand Software recognition, and then click Application groups.
Select the group in the Application Groups list.
Select application(s) in the Applications list.
Click Assign, or drag the selected application(s) to the Applications in the selected application group list.
Unassign applications from group
In the category menu, expand Software recognition, and then click Application groups.
Select the group in the Application Groups list.
Select application(s) in the Applications in the selected application group list.
Click Unassign, or drag the selected application(s) back to the Applications list.
In the category menu, expand Software recognition, and then click Application groups.
Select the group in the Application Groups list.
Click Copy Group.
The copy of the group is added to the Application Groups list.
In the category menu, expand Software recognition, and then click Application groups.
Select the group in the Application Groups list.
Click Edit.
Make the changes and click OK to save.
Select the application group to be overridden and in the same process, create the new group that will be used instead.
In the category menu, expand Software recognition, and then click Application groups.
Select the group to be overridden in the Application Groups list.
Click Override, or right-click the group and then click Override.
The Override Group dialog box appears.
Type information for the new group on the General Info, Settings, Application Types, and Part Number tabs, for details see Create new application group.
Click OK to save the new group and close the Override Group dialog box. The new group is added to the Application Groups list and the overridden group is strikethrough.
In the category menu, expand Software recognition and click Application groups.
Select the group in the Application Groups list.
Click Delete.
Click OK to confirm the deletion.
The group will be removed from the database and all associated software will be unassigned.
